A New President – A New Attitude. How Do You Feel?

I’m sending out my blog a little early. I can’t wait to hear from YOU!

We have a new President. There seems to be a new spirit in America. I realize the celebration part will only last for awhile. We all have a lot to do in order to get our nation back on track. But for right now, our hopes and dreams should be allowed to soar! There seems to be a desire for unity, reconciliation and communication among all races. Tell me:

Question: How did you feel about the Inauguration? How do you feel about a new President? How do you feel about your country? HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Talk To Me!

Im real Proud to see our First African American President. It makes me Proud to be in Chicago, and be a Black Male.

I feel liberated. I thank God for what has happened today. I woke up this morning with a brand new attitude. I always new there was nothing impossible with God but after 43 other presidents with none of them close to being African Americans, you sometimes wonder. Truly today is a Yes you can day for our young people. They can make it . He said delight yourself in him and he will give you the desires of your heart. You have to desire a thing for it to come to fruition no matter how long it takes. Just be patient and wait on God.

This day has put me in a mood of reflection and praise. Upon thinking of the challenged and obstacles President Obama’s campaign faced, it brought home the idea “nothing is impossible with God”. This was definately ordained by God and I believe this act has encouraged many to believe for greater territory. We must stay in tune with what our Savior is doing and not be left behind during this awakening. I praise God for selecting a leader such as this and pray that as the President take courageous steps, we will all stretch our boundaries a little wider!

Dr. Ed,
The inauguration event was an exciting, and joyful occasion for me, and a time to celebrate the inauguration of our first african american president of the US. President Obama by his presence, transparency, candor, eloquence, and moral example challenge me as a human being to reflect on my own life circumstances, and choices, and reevaluate my priorities, and set goals and objectives that service others. How can I take my God given talents and put them to use to better serve my fellow citizens, who may be less fortunate than I am. I am not satisfied with pass accomplishments, which i plan to revisit and improve on them by applying myself more fully with different and better outcomes. I am proud to be in this country today, because i have a glimmer of hope that I can do better, and be more succesful than I already am, and I do not have to set by, and passively live, but start taking some initiative, and others will follow. God Bless America, and America Bless God through our service to others. I feel elated, happy, overjoyed, empowered, and validated. I only wish my parents were alive to see this manifestation of years of struggle and sacrifice.
God Bless Dr. Ed

It’s simply been a long time coming, and with God’s grace, A Change Is Gonna Come. God bless us all.

I am grateful to know that God is in control. I believe that President Obama has been called by God for such a time as this!!! I am blessed to be alive for this HISTORICAL day, and years to come! I know that President Obama cannot lead by himself. It will take the prayers of the people of God. The people of God must have a sensitive ear to hear the voice of God for this country and this world. Surely, we will need to fast and stay focused and faithful!!! President Obama, I believe, is depending on the prayers of the righteous, because I’m sure, he’s read in the Word of God, that the prayers of the righteous avails much!!! I believe that a significant, sound, and sobering change has begun for our cities, states, nation, country and world. We must stay on the course of what God has put in motion, CHANGE!!!

I faithfully feel that our country is in the hands of God!!!

Dr. Montgomery may the blessings of God continue to overtake you and your wife into the bless places, positions, and purposes that He has for you!!!

First of all i would like to thank GOD our life savior. i am in a state of aw,mesmerized and last but not least at ease and at peace. Its always good to see the country come together as one. Its been way over due. i think us as african americans or black folks need to due our part to make our race and our president look even better. love and peace to every one

HOW DO I FEEL. LET;S SEE, RIGHT NOW IT;S TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY. FOR THIS IS THE WORK OF GOD. I FEEL THAT WITH JESUS ON OUR SIDE,THINGS WILL WORK OUT FINE, WE’RE GOING TOO MAY IT. I JUST LOVE PRESIDENT OBAMA SPEACH WHEN HE SAID THAT WE NEED TO STOP ACTING LIKE CHILDREN. AND TO PICK OURSELVES UP DUST AND DUST OURSELVES OFF,AND START ANEW, AND THE LORD IS IN CONTROL.

Simply put…to God be the glory! It has been an awesome, awe-inspiring day and I feel blessed to have lived to see it.

I don’t know how to truly feel I’m as so full of joy, hope and prayer for him his family and our country. I will continue to pray for this country and our First Family of the United States of America. It really feels good to know that only God made all this possible and he send the man made from him that he know could make this change we are ready for. Thank god for the very strong and spirital first lady Michelle Obama. My heart is filled with god mercy and grace right now and I think for you ALC first family as well.
God bless you Pastor Ed and Sister Saundra

Sincerely
Barbara J

lets jus watch and pray

I am grateful that God has provioded me strength and life enough to see this day come. I have greatly seen a change in the Houston area over the past years. I pray that God will continue to provide the strength we need to perform the task at hand to heal our land and the leaders with the know how to do it. God Bless us all.

I am truly ecstatic that this day has come. I never thought in a million years that I would see America have a Black President and I’m only 33. God has truly blessed our country and we need to come together and take hold of President Obama’s vision of this new America and make it happen. Through the grace of God, He has brought us thus far and He is going to take us higher. Glory be to God for this momentous day!!!

Dr. Montgomery, I found myself mesmerized as I viewed the inauguration of our country’s first African-American president. I viewed the event as an example of how great we can be as a nation, but even more importantly I was reminded once again of how “All things are possible through Christ…”. President Obama set an excellent tone for the nation…looking back while providing a clear message for the way forward. I feel hopeful, blessed, encouraged, and God-driven. Let’s stay prayerful.

Today was the first time in my adult life (I’m 59)that I truly sang the national anthem. In the past I would mouth it because the occasion called for it. Today I sang it. It is time for us to live free and be brave.

Pastor, to tell you the truth, I don’t feel any different whether it is Barack Obama or John McCain being president. I think that too much emphasis has been that he’s the first African American president. Yes, it is history in the making, I understand that. But how effective is he going to be handling the issues we face? That is what matters to me the most. I truly hope he does succeed and does well. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 it clearly tells us to pray for those in authority. Me must pray for him that God will deposit in him increased wisdom to handle all the issues at hand. I wish him nothing bu the best.

I feel very hopeful–I saw some photos of Barak and Michelle Obama today. They look so regal in their own way, they know who they are and they’re comfortable with it. That’s my desire for us all Pastor Montgomery; to realize the royal bloodline from HIM, our precious Yeshua!

I have to admit I have mixed emotions as a 44 year old black woman.

It is great to live and see the 1st Black American become president.

It is nice to see so many support him in unity in the name of change.

But….

I personally do not agree with many of the things he stands for and supports such as abortion and Gay marriages and other issues. Those are important to me as others say it does not matter.

But, I respect he is my president and I embrace it and will pray as he is President on many issues. It will be great to see America Change, but I am not sure it will or if it does, it will not be long term, because God has shown signs that his plan ill come to pass, and the best change will come from our Heavenly Father, not Obama. Yes, God can use him for change, but it is like so many are worshiping him.

Well those are my comments you asked. I do respect everyone’s comments even if it is different than mine

I FEEL GREAT!
I marched in the 60″s and hoped this day would someday come.
He has a lot to do, but I am sure he will accomplish what others did not.

After all the “HYPE” — “REALITY”!!! I “piggy-back” and/or “diddo” to what Claudin John, Kevin and Angie U have already very well expressed. Only to add my concern for my two loved ones over in Iraq; that they come home in sound mind and body in God’s speed.

I was born in 1969 and born again in 1989. You ask me how I feel. I must say that I am a little saddened, a bit amazed and somewhat disappointed. I am feeling all of this because of the reaction of many black people to this election. Many blacks are acting as if just now God has become on our side. They are acting as if just now they can acheive and succeed. They are acting as if just now they can tell their children that they have a place in America. I must tell you I am sad to hear people saying that they just now will sing the national anthem. I don’t understand why people like Lillian say they feel liberated. I am really disappointed with this frame of thinking from Christians.
I honestly believed that Jesus made me free when he died on the cross and I accepted His salvation in 1989. It was then I became liberated. I don’t understand why we as Americans are acting as if America has made some sort of earth shattering instantaneous change just because of this election. NO, Obama didn’t win because America suddenly changed, he won because America had changed and is changing. Racism is not and has not been a major problem for some time now. I keep hearing people say that they never expected to see a black President in their life time. That is sad, especially for young people 40 and under and especially for Christians who go around quoting that with God all things are possible and if God be for us who can be against us and whatever we put our hands to do God will bless. Was all of that true except when it comes to getting a black man elected President. I don’t know why black people who are living in a time that has seen the most gains among black people who actually wanted to succeed are having a hard time believing that a black person could be elected President. I believe the problem lies more with their own stunted and backward thinking than with the prejudice of America. Check the history books, blacks were elected to political office as early as 1870. They were elected by whites and beat whites. Even Martin Luther King Jr. himself said that in his lifetime he had seen changes in white America that he could envision in 40 and maybe even 25 years a black man becoming president of the United States. Why could he conceive it and yet Christian black people of today act like this was a miracle on the same status as the parting of the Red Sea. Maybe it is because Martin Luther King truly was a man of faith. Rememer he did say that God had taken him to the mountain top to see the promise land. He did let us know that wel as people had made it in. Those blacks who are feeling that we as people are just now entering that promise land to me must have been wandering around in the wilderness for the last 40 years. I believe black Christians celebrating in this manner would be rebuked by Jesus as being foolish with little faith.
As far as Obama himself, I feel a litte uncertain. He is a liberal democrat. He believes that government is the solution to everything. I don’t share his political views. I am concerned as to what he will do because he is so unknown and somewhat of a novice. I am bewildered why many are crowning him with many crowns before he has even done anything. You say it was extrodinary that he won the campaign. I just think he happened along at the right time, the democrats (at least the white democrats-the black democrats were johnny come lately’s) were a little sick of the Clintons and America was very sick of the Republicans. Mc Cain didn’t even have the support of his base. So really it wasn’t that remarkable thing that he won. It could have been any democrat really.
I am going to support and pray for Obama, but I am not going to make more of him than he is. He is a mere mortal. He is half black and that doesn’t make any difference to me one way or the other. I want him to do well, but I am not willing to give him a passing grade before he takes the course.
Finally I am hoping that we will one day realize King’s dream yea his vision. That day when we won’t say a black did this or a black can’t do that. I look forward to the day when we will take no more notice to a first black than we do to someone who acheives something who has red hair. When we just start seeing one another as individuals ( and I really am directing this moreso to black people than anyone else) and not as some big group connected by something so stupid as skin color we really will have over come.
That’s how I feel

As a Soldier I am very excited about this turning point in history. As a black man I am full of joy that we have truly overcome a once almost impenetrable glass ceiling of which I can now dream of my son or daughters accomplishing. As a Kingdom believing Christian I am watchful and prayerful that God directs and guides this leader and sets in order some needed change, morally, financially and socially. I am hopeful of our future!

The presidency was not an impenetrable glass ceiling. Since being emancipated black people were never told they couldn’t run for presidency. Surely in the past it may have been unlikely for a black man to win and even daring to do so may have caused some physical harm, but it was not outrightly denied. In the not so distant past when Shirley Chisolm, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton ran for the nomination of their party. They were not denied because of being black. They were even allowed to debate. Some feel they were taken more seriously than they ought to have been. These people were not rejected becasue of the skin color. They were rejected because of their politics and too narrow agendas. Barach was elected because he ddn’t run as a black candidate fighting for black issues. He ran as a moderate democrat. Any other black with similar broad views could have run anytime before this. So Louis, you should have been able to dream this accomplishment for your son or daughter from the very first moment they were born, Barach or not.
I’m not sure about what turning point everyone is looking forward to either. Just because he is half black doesn’t mean that he is bringing in any radically different ideas. His cabinet is made up mostly with Clinton people and some of Bush’s leftovers. If the black democrats knew that he was going to just put all of Clinton’s people in there, they could have just stuck with their original choice, Hillary.
If anything the democrats should feel a little upset and betrayed like the gays do. Barach is not going to end the war as fast as he made out, he is not going to close guantonomo as fast as he made out, he is not going to repeal Bush’s tax cuts, he doesn’t even want to investigate the Bush adminisration as the other democrats do. I would say so far it looks like you got the old bait and switch.

There are so many unanswered question about this man but, I will pray for him and give him a chance to prove himself and gain my trust.

Dr. Montgomery, I truly want to thank you for that very empowering message you gave on Sun. Jan., 18th. You broke it down so clearly. I believe that your message is what really got us ready for this GREAT DAY. At least I was able to see how God has not forgotten the plight of the black race. I was so inspired by your sermon and so excited about our day in time which got us ready for “THIS MOMENT.” OUR DAY HAS COME to fursion. Now I am eagerly awaiting to see more exciting things that I know God will not only do for the black man but for our nation in general. This Inauguration helps me to believe to receive that all things are possible for them who believes.

I am so proud and happy for our President and family. Proud because he is a black man and knows who and who’s he is. I am so thankful that we have a man who has the dogma to go for what he wants and does not settle until he has achieved his dream. I hope that we as a people will pray for President Obama and his family. We can surely see the hand of God moving in his life. We as Christians should watch and follow the example he is setting. No matter what negative remarks anyone says about him he does not loose focus and does not get bitter and retaliate against the person but in the end he always comes out on top.

I felt so proud to see this day in history. I am only 44 years old, but I recall times when I was just a child playing with my caucasian neighbors and facing racism on both sides. I grew up as an adult in a mixed environment. Being a young black woman in Chicago at that time was hard in corporate america. No matter how much education or experience you had, you were almost always overlooked because of your race. I can proudly look upon this moment as a time when we are not overlooked as black people with the honor of have a black man as President of the United States. I do not believe in everything he stands for in particular the gay rights and abortion, but the word says the prayers of the righteous availeth much. The word goes on to tell us to pray for those in authority. That does not just mean our pastors, but all leadership. He needs the prayers of the saints so that I life here would be peacable. God bless this nation in these days and I pray that the saints would get in their rightful place of prayer and warfare on behalf of the nation and our leader.

Pastor Montgomery,I truly felt that today event has happened for a purpose,to see a black man achieve what was said to be impossible come to pass has giving me a new hope and a new release on achievement goals not only for myself but for all men. This Inauguration should be viewed as great, but lets keep the main thing the main thing.GOD,he says he would exalt man in do season, promotion comes from ABOVE…..

I though the acceptance speech was not only motivating, but put our past and now in to perspective in regards of how far we have came and the endless possibilites without no more excuses. Having President Obama now gives us all a view that we all can relate to. Our country feels united with a colorless reflection. I have felt motivated since Barak’s announcement to run for president. You feel strengthen, driven, uplifted, and open-minded to achieve your desired goals. I know that for a fact. I can testify for my accomplishments in just the last 6 months exactly. I have over came some very mental challenges by first believing, trusting, and having faith. I listen with conviction to your sermons/ teaching and having the strong possibilities of a black president and now the reality of having a black president. I can testify that you, Dr. Montgomery and President Barack Obama have been such an enormous inspiration for me achieving my current goals and the planned goals to come. Thank you very sincerely Dr. Ed Montgomery for what you do and how you do.
Thank you!!!!!!!!! God Bless you and your family and God Bless our President Barack Obama.

After working long hours with the campaign and watching President select his cabinet, I was concerned that though we had a new President nothing was changing, I became unexcited because I could not understand why the majority of his cabinet was people from Clinton Admin. But on the eve of the inaugural the Lord clearly spoke and said this is not about Obama, as you see him step over there will others who will step over too. This celebration is a sign of the Kingdom being positioned to carry out their commission and take charge in empowering mankind for self sufficiency through unlimited opportunities being certified and qualified to make quanitative statements.

I think it is looooong overdo that we, as America, observe a positive Black man in action with his woman and his family.

It is an honor to watch him lead courageously and watch the fruit of our people’s labor finally culminate into this triumphant experience.

I am very appreciative, honored, thankful and humbled. Thank you for asking.

I am additionally excited about The President’s vision of world peace and unity coupled with how far we are going to go as a people.

Kefflynne D. Harrington.

Pastor,
Yesterday was not only an amazing day in our storied history, but a very proud moment that my children finally have a leader that they can look up to. As a father, you well know, I do all I can to teach my children to love God, adore everything He done/does for us all, learn to love our neighbors and our enemies. Forgive those who hurt us and pray for our family, friends and enemies. To strive to be all we can be and seek out God’s will for our lives. But when they can witness change in our wotld to the degree such as actually seeing an African American take position to be the most powerul man in this world, who loves God, it gives substance to everything you go through to teach them about what can be done if you believe in your God given ability to reach for His will in your life. I am so proud to be an American. To have seen first hand the violence from the 60’s and the gradual change since those days; to see the tears of those older blacks who endured the harsh struggle of racism; to see aselfless, humble man who happens to be black take the oath of office; how do I feel? I feel loved. I feel protected. I feel the hand of God working in my own life because I have dreams to. Big dreams that I know God placed in my spirit. Like my President, the good thing He’s started in me He will be as faithful to complete. I am inspired to work even harder to reach that dream. I know that my children will be inspired when I reach my dream knowing they will reach theirs.

I am more concerned then excited. It’s time to pray and truly seek the face of God. The Lord is at hand and i know He is soon to come and there is nothing that has happen or should happen as true believers that should even surprise us. It’s time to pray! Pray for the President because he and his family will truly need it. Be watchful saith the Lord, watchful and prayerful in the Name of Jesus.

I get excited everytime I see Obama and his family. I believe God has his hand on this situation. We as african Americans have traveled a long road to get here. This should inspire people to see that “All Things Are Posible”.
Thank You Jesus!

I am grateful and hopeful with what I am witnessing.
Presently, We’re experiencing the hand of God in our lives during a time of recession.. There is peace in our home, a surplus in our joint and personal accounts, and all bills are current.
I am expecting God will continue to give us the desires of our heart as we’re lead by Him.

Pastor,
This inauguration is a great American historical moment. Who would have thought that in our lifetime that we would witness an African-American President in office!!! However, I am quite ambivalent at the same time. The world has embraced this man!!! I consider myself an optimist, although it is evident that we are living in the last days. Having said that, I can’t help but think about biblical prophesy. Before I continue let me say this…Obama is not the Antichrist!!! But I can see our adversary testing the waters!!!
According, to Biblical prophecy the one called the anti-christ will mesmerize the world…he will be a great orator, full of charisma, full of swag (like the young folks say), with the ability to captivate the masses!!! Our new President has all of those characteristics along with his being a professing Christian…although some of his viewpoints are not necessarily biblical. Therein lies my ambivalence. The society is in shambles, people have lost and are still losing their jobs and homes.
So with the drama of past eight years (Bush Administration)…Change is an excellent option!!!
An option that is easy to embrace!!! Change…an excellent word to build a campaign on!!! And the masses swallowed it!!! Add to that…the endorsement of Oprah Winfrey…and BAM! you are President. I am usually leery of what the masses follow. Remember the masses that followed and thronged Jesus but only the woman with the issue of blood got what she needed!!! Just because the majority accepts a thing doesn’t mean it’s the right thing. Not saying that Barack is the wrong choice, (I pray that he is the right choice) but, the test begins when all the euphoric dust settles!!! Will he change the world for the better? Or will he be just another politician used as a puppet to promulgate some hidden agenda?
I recall Jesus during his high priestly prayer in John 17 asking The Father to keep his disciples from the world even as he sent them into the world. We know he was talking about this world’s system. Which would imply that this world system is ungodly. Will he bring us a a nation closer to God? We can only pray that he does!!! So without me further rambling on….to answer your question….How do I feel? One word. Ambivalent.

I am so excited for Barack and his family. There are mountains to climb and God will hear all of our prayers. They look sooo cute, I loved to see them dancing at all of the balls.

Truly this is a blessing from God to have President Barack Obama in the White House. Definitely a change has come for all mankind, nationality, race, creed and color. We have a theme for 2009 which is “A New Me, with a New Attitude. This year is so significant to the body of Christ. We’re in the shift of change which implies God’s favor and manifestation to take place. We will have to stay prayerful and steadfast keeping the faith in God for our new President and his family. May God bless us and God bless America.

I still feel we have a long way to go as far as reconciliation and communication among races but if we keep strong in the faith of our Lord we will truly over come.

I feel fresh hope, new joy and greater peace….
Along with everyone, I am grateful and very proud of our new President. He is a true testimony of the fulfillment of “prophecy” regarding unity in the country. I am elated that I had an opportunity to stand on the grounds of the USA capitol and witness an awesome event, it very peaceful and love was overflowing. I pray that more citizens will allow this new found hope to take them to the greater hope, which is Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Grrrrreeeeaaaatttt, , I remember when my father came home to Ohio from the March in Washington with Dr. Martin Luther King with Hope and a Dream, a now the dream has come true in my life time. Praise God

Dr. Montgomery being born 73 years ago in Alabama under the spirit that created minds such as George Wallace, and some even worse. to answer your question, i felt that the Inauguration was part of the healing process, that is need at this time for all of us. How i feel about the new president, we are of the same spirit, and i know a son has been born to us, out of the prayers and struggles of our ancestors. I am proud of my country and its fine people,my feeling is one of joy…..Thank you for asking.

I’m so greatful. All my life I heard of the hardships from my parents and grandparents. Disbelief and struggles. It is with great pleasure to watch and witness this historical time with my children. The change has come not only for me but my childrens, children will see the change!

I have a renewed sense of who I am and the possibilities for not only me, but my two little kids. And to add I feel really good. I’m not worried about whether the job will get done because people of faith always prevail under pressure. I believe in God and I believe in the second gift he has given us. Mr. Obama

In much the same idea…..I am excited and very proud of President Obama and what he proclaims in doing. However, I do realize that he is still one man who like many of us have aspirations and expections. My prayer is that the unity that is being displayed be not one that simply weens itself after awhile, but that it is put into effect.

I think President Obama has the potential to accomplish many great things, it has to be a little unnerving. America has extremely high expectations for him and will expect him to meet all of their demands exactly as they want them, but we know this is not always possible. I hope that America can understand that because I believe he needs the nation behind him 100% no matter what bumps we may come across.

I feel honored to have a black man for the President of the United States which is the grace of God for him to be in office. I know that God has great things in store for His people. I feel C-H-A-N-G-E in the atmosphere!!. I know that God wants to take His people to a whole new level in Him spiritually and naturally. I feel that God is going to show Himself BIG and GREAT!!!!! I am glad that the father allowed me to be alive!!

I feel magnificent. I thank God for his awesome blessings. Many prayers, tears, and sacrifices have been answers by God’s awesome promise.

The first person that came to my mind during the Inauguration was Harriet Tubman. She aided so many slaves to freedom. I don’t know why I thought about her, but I could only imagine her expressions to this wonderful blessing from God.

My parents did not live to see this moment, but I have a great aunt (Ruth Galmon) who will be 110 on March 30. She was born in 1899 and has seen many, many things. I am certain that this is one of the most spectacular things she has every witnessed. I personally will continue to pray for President Obama and family, as well as our country and nation. I thank God for his promises and blessings. “All things are possible through Christ Jesus.” Jesus’ blood has made a black man president of the United States of America which consists of a predominately white society. Our God is an awesome God.

PTL- REAL LOUD n REAL LONG :) I am feeling real good about now. This is truly the year of possibilities. I am happy for the Obamas! I am blessed to know my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to have the ability to operate in God’s Spirit, and have renewed my commitment to serve God and His people.

The curse that stopped people of color from being a president in USA was broken yesterday. Now, I pray for TRUE unity, wisdom, faith in Jesus, and mercy upon USA.

In closing, abundant blessings upon your ministry in Jesus name!!!

Again pastor you “rocked it” tonite. I hope people can really grasp the depth of what you are trying to convey to them….it’s pretty deep…!! I do hope and pray that revival hits the church once again and knock all the wannabees, has beens, and ain’t got nothin’ going on saints…I mean aints out the way because it’s serious now and people are looking for Jesus, nothin’else….

peace out, keep doing your thang!

I felt great watching the inuaguration, it was a beautiful sight to behold, words are truly insuffecient to express the sense of pride and overwhelming joy that I felt. I have always felt that I could do anything but seeing this historical moment made it tangible for me and people like me. There are no limits on what I can do and what our people can do as long as we belief and go for it. My confidence in myself is through the roof nothing or no one can tell me I am unable to have or do what my heart desires. GOD bless President Obama and his family his term will be for eight years and I know he is gonna do wonders.

With God All Things are possible. our God has put his stamp of approval over our president A message of love and peace and harmony to the people and the nations and to break the color barrier. We must continue to pray for our president, our leaders, the nations and the body of christ Yes this is History! Praise and Worship our God… Ps 46:10 Sister Ruthie

President Obama truly inspires me as great persons such as you Pastor Ed do! I feel so energized, refresh and renewed to reach my fullest potential by tapping into the attitude change and community awareness sense of living he represents. history is made, we all have to do our part still to make the dream a reality…with God all things are always possible

blessings!

Praise God for moving forward! Keep on doing what you’re doing, Dr. Montgomery, Mighty Man of God, and I believe our nation will move forward with utmost precision, to the Glory of God, to usher in the soon coming of our KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, JESUS CHRIST!!!

2008 will be remembered when we are long forgotten about, but to be able to be a part of this historic moment I would never trade. I smile every where I go just because we did it together. I think that black men and women should take more time out for our kids to let them know that they can accomplish anything that they dream of. I think that we should think more about our children future instead of our cars, clothes, shoes, hairs, nails etc. We can now see that prayer changes things and that our almighty God listens. This is not a time to abuse what God has blessed our country with. Here is a moment to embrace what we can do to show our country that we care and are proud to be Americans. This didn’t open a door just for blacks this election has opened a door for anyone of any race that is an American to be The President of the United States. My swagger for 2009 is God Fearing/Black Professional Male Entrepreneur/Gentleman/Great Father/Faithful Husband/Encouraging Mentor/True Leader for trouble children etc. I say this because we all should take a moment to see how we can help our President and our Country become the super power and place that everyone around the world knows that it to be. No more time to keep doing the same thing over and over again and again. We as a people need to get back to owning or businesses in our own neighborhoods and we need to own businesses in other neighborhoods. We need to study what they like to eat, wear, do, buy, and everything. They did it to us so we need to do the same thing to them.

Now on the other hand I think that the economy will not fall down worst than it has unless we as Americans let it happen. God need to give people a reality check though and I am glad he did. I believe that in the future there will be a lot of greater opportunities in the future for all Americans.

God Bless my people,

The inauguration was a happy event and I enjoyed watching every moment of it. I was proud to be a part of this historic moment. I know President Obama will lead us in the right direction and I pray God’s blessings on him and family. This history has long been in the making and Yes, it is finally here. We have to continue to pray for President Obama, our country, our churches and our young people. God Bless.

I am sooo proud! I can now say and mean my country. I always lived here but have felt like a guest. I say that because yes we have been allowed to become Governers,Doctors,Lawyers,
but never until now have we been allow to sit behide the desk in the Oval Office inside the White House. The late Dr King had a dream and had he been alive today I can assume he would feel a little deja vu. Now no more of the white man holding me down comments should be allow. We all know that blacks are not the majority so it was not just us who put a mark in the history books it was America as a whole.

Good evening, Pastor. When President Obama became President-Elect, I was numb. I couldn’t understand why I was not as excited as everyone else. I know our history with America. Maybe I was exhaling for all the ancestors who fought for this moment. However, during the Inauguration, my daughters and I were glued to CNN. We stood when everyone present in Washington stood. I was excited and full of energy. When Bush got on the plane, I kicked up my leg and gave the “boot”. I know he served his purpose but that doesn’t mean I had to like it.

President Obama is not simply an African-American President. He has risen out of the bowels of Africa. The very same place our ancestors were snatched from. He is now in charge of a country our ancestors shed blood, lost lives and were forced to build. It’s heavy and not to be taken lightly or for granted. I know that there will be challenges for President Obama but I will be praying for him and all leaders in authority.

I honestly feel that “overall” life has set us up for this moment in time. For a long time, I have heard pastors speak on the subject of transitional wealth. I kept asking how was God going to perform it. Now that I see the rich going to the pawn shops, financers getting caught stealing funds from the “rich”, and the stock market declining – it’s interesting watching God work. My finances have never been better. I am even able to budget funds for my savings account. My husband was not bringing his check home but he brings it home now. He’s even working with his best friend who started his own construction company and my husband calls him to go to work (his friend picks him up). For years, my husband would not hold a job. My oldest son is doing better in school. Everything is turning around for our good. Praise God!! As they have done, I see many other men stepping up to the plate and finally living life on purpose.

Greetings Pastor Montgomery,
Thanks for adding value to our opinions! I am elated with great joy regarding our new President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama! We all are truly blessed with such great role models. God has appointed him, we were just given a chance to be a part of the election process.

This has been trying times for myself and others close to me. We are so grateful that there is New Hope, New Meaning, and a New President that equals New Beginnings.

We all have to do our part by beginning and ending the day with prayers of gratitude to our Father God! When you see the First Family, you can’t help but feel and see the unconditional love they share among eachother and others not related to them(World). No more excuses from the mouths of the ones that think someone is holding them back….no more…no more…

Question: How did you feel about the Inauguration?
I told my Sunday school class it is like the wedding reception after the exchanging of the vows “celebration-hype” you have to watch and pray for the marriage .

How do you feel about a new President? How do you feel about your country?
I am going to support and pray for President Obama, according to the word of God Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

HOW DO YOU FEEL?
I feel hopeful in spite of all the reports that we hear. Yes, I have watched our stock and 401k almost vanish, interest rates increase, and work hours decrease. However, my trust, faith, and confidence, in God still stands strong. Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

I hope you had a wonderful BIRTHDAY. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU .

I did not support President Obama’s candidacy because of his political and social views, specifically his pro-abortion voting record and his far left socialist agenda that we see unfolding in this new spending bill forced thru Congress only hours ago. However, I believe the Bible is clear that God chooses authority and He moves the hearts of the kings how he wishes. I may not support many of President Obama’s policies, but he is my President and I will support him and pray for him to be guided by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ just as we should for all our leaders. I believe elections are God-ordained opportunities for us to choose wisely godly leaders, but we can also choose unwisely…either way, I believe God uses the outcome to teach us just as he did the Jews when they wanted kings and judges instead of priests and God. There were times when the people chose wisely and leaders governed with wisdom and clarity…other times, they made poor choices and suffered the consequences sometimes for generations.

I don’t believe God is a democrat or republican, liberal or conservative…but I do believe that there are principles that are evident to anyone with an open mind that can be found in any politicians voting record and written opinions that give insight as to what is the motivating energy behind his or her views, positions, and actions. I can only pray that America didn’t chose unwisely this election cycle. I was emailed tonight what may be a positive change in President Obama’s pro-abortion stance. This was only 9 days ago. I hope that it’s true. It was taken from the National Review Online which is a conservative magazine founded by William F. Buckley, jr decades ago, a staunch prolife devout Catholic. It is an opinion piece to be sure, but that shouldn’t preclude the reader finding the facts also in the article. I hope it is correct. This nation has killed 40 million unborn babies since Roe v Wade. As Billy Graham once said, if God doesn’t judge us for abortions in the USA, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom. I pray our President will stop the murder of unborn babies and call our nation back to the God of our fathers. So far, President Obama’s actions have not mirrored his statement below at the National Prayer Breakfast, but maybe he’s waiting for better timing. We should all pray for guidance and for him to hear the voice of God in this and all things. God bless President Obama.

February 5th 2009 – Less than two hours ago, Jim Geraghty from NRO reported the following:

President Obama, moments ago, during the National Prayer Breakfast: “We know there is no God who condones the killing of an innocent human being.”

So, let me guess, he’ll wait another 24 hours before promoting the Freedom of Choice Act?
In response to this astounding and encouraging statement by radical proabortionist, President Obama, Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com wrote these insightful, sobering, and sagely words:

“Perhaps then President Obama would also agree that we know no God who condones the negligent killing of innocent human beings who survive abortions. Of course, Obama would have to acknowledge now that his position has changed since his days in the Illinois state legislature, when he helped protect abortionists by blocking legislation that would have required a second doctor to act on behalf of infants born alive after an abortion. God knows that those children were and are innocents, alive at birth, and left to die in abortion mills.

Perhaps that will also lead Obama to oppose the Freedom of Choice Act, which would remove all existing restrictions on the killing of innocent human beings in the womb. After all, once the sperm and egg combine, the result is a unique being, completely human, and alive. That isn’t a theological determination, but a scientific fact at the moment the cell begins to multiply, within minutes of conception. Certainly that would be the apex of innocence. If no God condones the killing of an innocent human being, the condemnation for that act would begin at life itself.

We will remind Presisdent Obama of his profound words at every opportunity over the next four years, and thank him for making this as clear as possible.”
“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” (Proverbs 21:1) If President Obama’s words were sincere this morning and not mere political accommodational spin to tickle the ears of gathered evangelicals at a prayer breakfast, then I say amen! Could the Lord be turning the heart of our President on this issue towards life? Time will tell…
So keep fervently praying beloved.
In that same chapter of Proverbs 21, Solomon ends as he began – with the Sovereignty of God over human affairs: “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”

Oh that we would see the demise of the abortion mill industry at every stage in our lifetime that has been tragically led by those possessing a seared conscience, and whom have delighted ethically, celebrated morally, profited financially, and participated barbarically in the murder of millions of unborn children. May this silent holocaust finally come to an end. Now that is the kind of “change” worth hoping for!
The battle is the Lord’s!

It was destine to be for this day that Obma is where he is. It goes to show us a people especially people of God that if God can do it for him. Just think what he can do for us. Even when he did he campaign Yes We Can. I had to take it spiritually that if I can have faith the size of a mustard seed and just hold to the promises of God the same way he move for him he’ll move for me to. The only that change is us God word does not change it stay just the same. That was also a part of Obma campaign Change can come but it up to us if we want change. I don’t know about anybody else but spiritually I need a change. To long sitting in the same place. It not that God can’t move he waiting on us to see what we are going to do. That is how I look at this with us have a African American as our president he not our god he the president and a human being. I just keep him and Michelle in pray everyday.

I DID NOT SUPPORT PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA,BECAUSE OF HIS SOCIAL.AND MORAL VALUES,HOWEVER GOD MANDATES THAT WE ARE TO PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS,GOD APPOINTS AUTHORITY,I DON,T UNDERSTAND IT,I JUST TRUST GOD.

I’d like to make a comment about Michael Moore’s comments. You sound like a full blown republican to me, and that is your choice and I do respect that. If you are not “Black” then you have NO right to dictate or belittle on how we express how we feel about our nation’s first President of color! You can read and educate yourself all you want on Black Culture, but until you are born black and have to live in the black world, then you don’t have a clue as to what you are talking about! If you are a Christian, I don’t know who’s God you’ve been serving, but our God (and there is only ONE God) has answered a prayer that our ancestrys have been our their knees praying and dying for since we became in existance! Last but not least, if you are “Black” then I feel really sorry for you, because you really don’t have a clue as to who’s you are! Oh yes, I said “who’s” you might have to read this over and over until it really sink in to your spirit! In the meantime, I’ll be praying generationally for you.

So how do you all feel now about President Obama? He is truly running our country into the ground and is going to make it a communist country if he keeps it up. He is not sticking to what he said he would do…. and Im really disappointed in him and where he is coming from. His true colors are flying and it isnt based on what our forefathers built this country on. God and God Himself. Obama is totally leaving God out and doing all he can to remove Him like they did from the schools! This is an outrage!

Although President Obama is getting a lot of oppositions from critics, we must remember that he inherited a world of problems. These problems cannot be fixed in a year, or two, or three, and perhaps even four years. However, my prayer is that God will grant him the wisdom to lead this country. Some may want to see him fail, but as long as the people of God keep him lifted up in prayer he cannot fail because there is no failure in God.
