The child saw change! Through the eyes of the painter the child saw something taking the place of something else which is the definition of change. Change also means to alter or make different. Evidently the current societal circumstances were not working, even in the eyes of the child. Evidence of economic disaster in our current circumstances reflect on what has not been working. The painting of a different somebody that the world needed to see, not necessarily color change but enviromental change. The boy set down his bag of cans, looked into the portrait and was amazed to see a picture of himself in the man, only he was in better clothing, a better outer look, but more importantly he also saw the inner response to his soul as the black president smiled in victory, the child saw his dream, a better future…

I like to share a prayer I received today that I think is appropriate considering this time:

“Everyone,

Lets just touch and agree that God’s will be done on today, that a spirit of peace shows itself in America, the divides that have haunted us for so many years are erased and that Obama be comforted in his time of grief with the loss of his grandmother. Before the foundation of the world God ordained this moment….this season….this man. I know all of you want the best for our nation but remember to reflect on where we have come as a people and a nation.

God we pray right now for the strength of the Lord to comfort and keep the Obama family. We pray that you will anoint him from the crown of his head to the very soles of his feet. We pray that your arms of protection and angelic host encamp themselves around him from the north, south, east and west. We pray that your will be done and that the peace of the Lord be upon him. We know that you have selected him for this time at this place in history to do your will and to be a voice of hope and change. We know that the road he travels will not be easy, the hills will certainly be steep. But you promised in your word to lead and guide us into all understanding. You said low you are with us, even to the ends of the earth. That your rod and staff will comfort us. That when the enemy comes in like a flood you will lift up a standard against it. Lift us up as a nation. Give Barak precision of thought and clarity of speech to pull down strong holds that keep our nation bound and shackled to the past. We release your power, your strength, your mercy, your compassion, your protection, your hope, your love, your longsuffering and you grace upon these United States of America. We trust you further than we can trace you. And we know that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE YOU AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO YOUR PURPOSE.

Let us accept what you allow. Let us rejoice in where we are going. Let us be encouraged to speak life to dead situations and most of all, let us love one another with the love of Christ!

First off, this is prophecy! God gave a vision and confirmation. In Habakuk 2:2 It says write your visions upon tablets…. and you did that, it was confirmed. You wanted people to be able to not only see a change, but be a chage and I applaud you for that. We have the opportunity at this point to reshape America and help it to become the country that God would have it to be. Not just a place where people come for refuge, but to build the people who will shape the world. We have come a long way and we are only in the first leg of the 800 meter race, the first down of an NFL game, jump ball at the start of the basket ball game, but it is only the begining, President Obama can’t do it alone. He will need us to do our part and be behind him in the decisions that face him whether we agree on all issues or not!

Bishop, I believe this is indeed prophetic!

You requested it…the power of your words reached into the spirit of that artist and there was formed a prophetic vision.

The depiction of the picture spoke volumes and almost left me wordless. This rendition “Reflection of What’s Possible” was captured in 1999…the inauguration ceremony will be in 2009 and will demonstrate “Reality of What Is Possible.”

I sense it is prophetic because it could have been a girl standing there looking at a fashion model. It could have been the same lad staring at a surgeon. But, it was a prophetic reflection of what was really about to take place in reality. Wow!

From poverty to prosperity…from uncertainty to assuredness…from the thoughts of a lad to the marks of a man through the miracle move and will of a Sovereign God.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!

“Not Just One Voice”

By any means necessary, we must lift our voices against alienation, segregation and historical discrimination.
In the age of political disgrace, each new indoctrinated government attempts to separate the race.
Not just one voice must promote freedom.
In the word of democracy, we must stand for freedom, but freedom where?
Does freedom just only exist in America or is it a conceptual philosophy that permeates elsewhere.
People march and protest against righteous indignation, apartheid, affirmative action, economic injustice and the ending of the war. Yet, social and economic inequities really have not progressed that far.
A decade of political and religious evolution is about to be erased, as nations seek to eliminate the concept of “GOD” without a trace.
Since governmental amnesia has dismissed our national anthem “In God We Trust” and have sought to remove “God’s” word from various operations which shall cause our nation’s foundation to decline and rust. Therefore this speaks to not just one voice or just one cause, we must ameliorate and demand political, economic and religious freedom for all.

So if it’s true about what they claim that political, economic and religious freedom is the way, then there must be a day when all minorities truly have a say.

Not just one voice must speak out against offensive behaviors and racial divide.
Not just one voice must recognize and proclaim “God” with national pride.

We all must cry out against inordinate hatred, terrorism, and racial superiority, so remember that at any given time, each one of us may be that minority. No longer can we stand on our land at the brink of despair and
confess that just because we’re Christians how much we care.
Now as Christian we must do more than talk a good game, but we must be prepared to stand united and stake “God’s “ holy claim.

We sing in unison about God’s spiritual truths and exhibit love, grace and mercy to those that have been abused.
God has written his ministry on our hearts and minds. Therefore, we must minister and eradicate/ declare to the weak that victory is on our side.

Not just one voice should call God’s name, for if we as (Christians) do not invoke change then the world, as we know it shall remain unchanged.

These was definitely a prophecy that God gave to you and in your God giving way of doing things you documented it for posterity and to see it come to pass is so amazing.

What we are witnessing today is a manifestation of the revelation that God gave you almost a dacade ago. Thank you for always making yourself available to be used by God to minister to us.

I believe this is prophecy. My husband and I have this same painting hanging in our office at home. I’ve had this painting since 1999 when you did the series on Breaking the Spirit of Poverty. During the primaries my husband pointed out to me how much the picture of the President looked like Barrack Obama. Oh how magnificant is our God! Thank you for allowing God to use you one more time. Hi Pastor! I believe that this is prophecy being fulfilled after 10 yrs. I also have a question that concerns me with the Church. With all the division (underlined w/racism), and negative attacks that came out of the McCain camp; and coming from those who say that they are Christians (or believers), do you believe that the Church was exposed and that we will hear more speaking in the Church on race relations? Especially from the Pool Pits of our White Pastors and Preachers? Because I heard some stuff that caused me to be afraid for those who are harboring hatred, and racism in their hearts that made me get in my prayer closet to intercede on behalf of the Church. It concerns me that many in the Church has not learned how to love.

What a blessing you are to share your wisdom with us. I have been a long-time admirer of yours and am thankful for your ministry. Regarding the picture, I believe it is prophetic. Our people are in need of transformation from the inside out. Financially, spiritually, mentally and physically, we must change and become whole and healed in Jesus name. The little boy is coming from a place of poverty, but poverty doesn’t necessarily render you powerless if you mind is changed and you are determined to do something in life. I remember listening to one of your sermons in which you shared that before you became a full-time pastor, you scrubbed toilets and did what you needed to do to support your wife and children. You weren’t too proud to do the “necessities of life.” I think too many preachers who think they hear the voice of God ought to take a look at your example and do the natural things of life to support their lifestyles and their families. If a pastor’s church has 20 members, those 20 members cannot possibly support the pastor and family (unless of course they are wealthy members) (SMILE). But, we have gotten to “name it and claim it” and everything will just appear. The devil is a liar. The Bible said “Faith without works is dead.” We better be working!!!! Oh, my goodness! I was just looking at this picture that I had hanging in my son’s room since 1999. When he moved away three years ago, the picture was taken down and stored in my room. Today, I happened to come accross the picture and instantly started screaming because of the prophetic message and images. My son lives back at home with me and he is 17 and will be graduating May 2009. We looked in awe together at this picture because it does resemble President Elect Obama and the message at the bottom. When I purchased this picture nine years ago to go in his room it was to always remind him of his possibilities. Now in 2009, ten years later we will witness our first African American President take the oath of office.. God send messages through people all of the time, we have to receive and appreciate…
